You don’t serve the homes and businesses of New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont for as long as we have without understanding the challenges of this region’s climate.
Our part of the Northeast boasts stunning scenery and wonderful seasonal attractions. But we also have some unforgiving winters — plus our share of sweltering summer days. At Mirabito Energy Products, we believe that everyone should be able to use the clean energy that best ensures their comfort, regardless of what the weather brings our way.
We’re always working to provide you with low-carbon energy solutions. Here are some issues that we advocate for.
Many of the states we serve are pursuing a narrow agenda of mandated electrification. What does that mean for our customers? They could be required to give up their furnaces and boilers in favor of electric heat pumps — a process that can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Some electrification advocates also want to restrict new vehicle sales to only electric vehicles.
If you want a heat pump for your home, we’re happy to help you install one. Similarly, anyone who wants to buy an EV has the right to do so. However, we don’t want customers to be forced to incur massive expenses when their traditional heating equipment and vehicles are working just fine (and using increasingly low-carbon fuel).
Besides, it has been documented that both heat pumps and EVs have issues operating in extreme cold. And the huge increase in power demand that electrification could bring would imperil our already strained electric grids.
Our customers are already shrinking their carbon footprint without having to convert their equipment. They’re doing it with a revolutionary product called Bioheat fuel.
Bioheat fuel is made by blending ultra-low-sulfur fuels with renewable biodiesel. This fuel slashes greenhouse-gas emissions and even reduces wear and tear in your heating equipment. Ultimately, it is better for homeowners, cleaner for the environment and safer for our communities.
