Propane is an American-made energy source that powers super-efficient heating systems and appliances. But like any commodity, propane’s price can rise and fall based on factors beyond your control or ours.
As a co-product of oil refining and natural gas extraction, propane’s price may track the price of those energy sources. Higher-than-anticipated demand from households, businesses, farms and municipalities can also drive the price up.
If you heat your home with propane, your household consumption will increase considerably in the winter season. It can all add up to a fair amount of uncertainty and some unexpectedly pricey months. Luckily, Mirabito Energy Products’ propane delivery customers can stabilize their energy spending with our pricing and payment options.
When you enroll in a Mirabito Budget Plan, you don’t need to pay in full for your fuel on delivery. Instead, we’ll develop a plan in which you pay for your annual fuel costs in equal monthly payments. This helps you manage your heating costs and slashes your winter expenses virtually in half!
Here are our two Budget Plan offerings:
The sum of your annual payments will ultimately reflect the price of the fuel you received on the date you received it. If the sum is lower than we estimated, any resulting credit will roll over to the next year. If it’s higher, the difference will be reflected in your final budget statement. This plan comes with no enrollment fee. Instead, you get a 20¢-per-gallon discount!
With this option, your per-gallon price will never go above an agreed-upon price cap, even if market prices rise. However, if the market price is below the cap at the time of your delivery, you’ll automatically receive the lower rate! With equal monthly payments, this plan makes it easier to manage your heating costs throughout the year. If you use fewer gallons than estimated, any credit will roll over to the next year. If you use more, the additional balance will be reflected in your final budget statement.
Mirabito’s Prepay Fixed Plan is fee-free and offers the best possible propane price based on current market conditions, locked in for all prepurchased fuel you pay for upfront. If you use fewer gallons than estimated, any credit will roll over to the next year. If you use more, you will receive an invoice for the additional gallons at the current market rate at the time of delivery.
Mirabito’s Prepay Cap Plan locks in the highest price you’ll pay for the year, but if the market price is lower at the time of delivery, you’ll automatically get the lower price. You make a one-time payment based on estimated usage. If you have a credit at the end of the season, it will roll over to the next year. If you use more fuel than anticipated, you’ll be invoiced for the additional gallons at the current market rate at the time of delivery.

HEAP is a federally funded program that issues heating benefits to supplement a household’s annual energy costs, including propane costs. HEAP also offers an emergency benefit for households in a heat or heat-related energy emergency. It offers a furnace repair and/or replacement benefit for households with inoperable heating equipment.
